Simple Skincare That Works
If there’s one thing I’ve learnt after years of treating skin, it’s this: more products don’t equal better skin. In fact, overcomplicating your routine is one of the fastest ways to end up irritated, confused, and disappointed.
Great skin comes from consistency, quality ingredients, and understanding what your skin actually needs — not chasing every trend.
Here’s how to build a simple, effective skincare routine that works for all ages and skin types, using Bare Skin’s hero products.
Step 1: Cleanse Properly (Morning & Night)
Cleansing is non-negotiable. It removes oil, makeup, pollution, and daily buildup so your skin can actually benefit from the products that follow.
Use a gentle, hydrating cleanser like our Hydrating Milk Cleanser
Avoid harsh foaming cleansers that strip the skin barrier.
Massage for 30–60 seconds — don’t rush this step
A compromised barrier often starts with the wrong cleanser. Learn more in our Impaired Skin Barrier guide.
Step 2: Treat With At Least One Targeted Serum
This is where most people go wrong — too many serums layered at once.
Choose one active serum that addresses your main concern:
Dehydration → Vitamin B Booster
Breakouts → Vitamin B Booster
Pigmentation → Bare Skin Brightening Serum
Fine lines → Bare Skin Retinol Plus Serum
Apply after cleansing, before moisturiser. Let it absorb properly before moving on.
Less, done well, always wins. For tips on layering serums correctly, check out our Serums 101 blog.
Step 3: Moisturise to Seal Everything In
Moisturiser isn’t optional — even for oily or acne-prone skin.
A good moisturiser -
Locks in hydration
Supports the skin barrier
Helps active ingredients work better
Our Multi Vitamin Moisturiser is lightweight, nourishing, and perfect for daily use.
Think of it as the protective layer that keeps your skin calm and balanced.
Step 4: SPF (Morning Only)
If you do nothing else for your skin long term, wear sunscreen.
Prevents premature ageing
Protects collagen
Reduces pigmentation and redness
No serum can outwork sun damage.
Evening Add-Ons (Only If Needed)
At night, you can introduce treatment products like:
Bare Skin Retinol Plus Serum (Vitamin A)
Weekly exfoliants or masks like the Dewy Collagen Mask
Introduce these slowly and strategically. This isn’t about doing more — it’s about doing what your skin can tolerate consistently.
The Bare Skin Philosophy
Skincare shouldn’t feel overwhelming. When you simplify your routine, your skin has space to repair, strengthen, and glow.
Healthy skin is built quietly, daily, and with intention.
